Next LeveL wins bf2 5v5 CAL Season 2

After much anticipation nL faced off against a very talented cz8 infantry team, for Caleague's 5v5 season 2 finals on City of the Dead. Going into the match we were very confident as we had great success all season long. We focused on playing our game and not letting any external pressures get to our heads and effect our playing style. We put aside the unfortunate events of last season and went into this season just as strong knowing what had to be done, and did it.

City of the dead is a pretty evenly balanced map so we knew the same amount of effort would be required both rounds. We knew any slip ups or mistakes would probably cost us a round. On to the match breakdown:

1st Round: We started off as USMC. cz8 came out strong with the AK's and was able to cause a huge disturbance at Maintenance flag, enough so that our entire team had to shift over to clear them out. We saw that cz8 was concentrating all of their pushing power in a tightly knit group of 4, as their squad leader did a excellent job moving around the map creating holes through our defenses. With the combination of this great squad leader movement and some very coordinated attacks, we felt as it was our time to play more offensively. This resulted in us being flagless for a short period of time, leaving Shenanigans to pull off the most clutch play of the match, fending off 4 people total at what was mec's main base for a desperate attempt to regain control of the flag. After Shenanigans magic, and some very powerful words between eachother on comms, we were able to restore confidence in eachother, and get back into our rythm. After some flag tag and neck and neck gun battles, we tdm'd cz8 down enough to regain ticket advantage. We developed a extra spurt of energy towards the end and managed a cap out on cz8 ending the round 14-0.

2nd Round: With the momentum of the first round behind us, we came in very strong 2nd round as Mec. We wanted to take control of market while causing a big disturbance at maintenance to throw them off. This worked well and actually enabled us to spread out their entire team. We sent a squad leader near USMC main to try to further throw them off balance. Shot for shot we were outkilling them pretty handily, building enough confidence for our decision to go for the cap out. Having them pinned in their main made this a rather difficult task as their entire team was spawning to defend it. Fortunately, we were able to kill all of them at the same time that created a small window of opportunity for us to rush in contestion, grey the flag, and end the game 74-0.

Great games and season to cz8, they played very well and gave us our toughest round all season. We were able to complete the season undefeated (12-0) not losing a single round. This marks nL's 2nd season without a single loss in Caleague 5v5.
